Players and parents from the Toronto Stars Girls Lacrosse club recently got together for their Winter Thaw Potluck to kick off their 2012 season at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall Br 617 in Scarborough.

Team Canada Women’s Director, Joanne Stanga, spoke to the teams about Canada’s 2013 National Team, about having dreams, fulfilling dreams, and the power of the underdog.

The Stars have set their sites this season on competing at the Ontario Summer Games for the first time ever. U15 coach, Tori Merrill and U19 coach, Yoko Murphy are ready for the challenge. Both will also be trying out for the Canadian Team.

A Team Canada jersey was raffled off at the end of the evening, and together with a donation from the executive, the club made a very generous donation of over $500 to Team Canada.

Thank you Stars, and best of luck this season!
